My trip to space.

On my trip to space I came in contact with a full moon! The shape  of the sunlight portion of the moon i saw was called a phase of the moon. I saw high tides and low tides. High tides are tides when the water is at its highest level, a low tide is when the water is at its lowest level. I also saw spring tides and neap tides. Spring tides are tides with the greatest difference between high and low tides. neap tides are tides with the least difference between high and low. There were tons and tons of huge enormous stars, stars are hot spheres and glowing gases that give off its own light and is held together by gravity. While being in space i saw the sun and  the earth. surprisingly our sun is small compared to all of the other stars in our galaxy! most of the energy from the sun is generated in the center, the core. the sun is made up of gases, i could obviously see gas streaming out of the sun while i was in space. The sun is made up of mostly hydrogen. Inside the core, the nuclei of hydrogen atoms fuse, or join together, to form helium. this is called nuclear fusion. It releases huge amounts of energy and makes the core extremely hot. From what what we can see on the earth our sun looks smooth. but in space however, there are many changing features on the suns surface. Like sunspots.   Sunspots are dark areas on the suns surface. these areas appear darker than the rest of the surface because they are cooler. Also Solar prominences appear as huge, reddish loops of gas above the surface of the sun. And solar flares are sudden  explosions on the suns surface, they release huge amounts of different forms of energy. While i was in space i saw lots of solar flares.  Its was definitely neat and really fun. I had an amazing time in space!
